Twitter closes offices for introducing a new policy, Employees resigned afterward

Since Elon Musk joined the social media platform, various changes have taken place since then. It has been a roller coaster ride for both management and the employees of the organization. But most major, his latest move has resulted in the resignation of employees and office closures.

Earlier this week, Musk issued an ultimatum over email to Twitter staff saying that they need to commit to “working long hours at high intensity,” or clear their desks by Thursday, Nov. 17.

A large number of employees have resigned from Twitter since then. This resignation also includes three months’ severance pay. And resulting in the company temporarily closing its offices as hundreds of employees have walked out over the ultimatum.

Further news of office lockouts –

Twitter also announced later that it is temporarily suspending all badge access until Nov. 21, asking staff to “refrain from discussing confidential company information on social media, with the press or elsewhere.”

The employees also mentioned stopping working at the place where they get threatened over email

As a reply to the email to Twitter staff saying offices are closed till Monday, an employee replied “I didn’t want to work for someone who threatened us over email multiple times” says one employee who’s just resigned

Appointment of new CEO in the process –

Former Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey also launched his decentralized social media network, Bluesky Social in October. The platform aims to give users control over their data and will feature portable user accounts and access to “an open market of algorithms.”

The Former CEO OF Twitter, Dorsey has refused to accept the position of CEO back at Twitter after Musk said this week that he wants someone else to run it.

In a separate tweet responding to questions by Barstool Sports founder, Dave Portnoy, Musk said he was “not super worried” as “the best people are staying.”
